FIND A HIMS AME

HIMS AMEs (Aviation Medical Examiners) receive specialized training within the HIMS program. You are required to consult a HIMS AME if you are seeking an FAA-monitored alcohol or drug Special Issuance Authorization.

These examiners also receive advanced training in aviation-related mental health conditions. This includes managing the antidepressant treatment of depression or anxiety disorders using FAA-approved SSRI therapy pathways.
